RSF Social Finance (RSF) mission is to catalyze transformation by circulating capital to social enterprises for a more just, regenerative, and compassionate world. Together with the members of the Southern Black Farmers Community-Led Fund (SBFCLF) and through other venues, RSF is changing the paradigm of who typically has a “seat at the table” to influence the flow of capital by supporting diverse stakeholders’ in collectively allocating grantmaking.
Approach
Flow funding through trust-based philanthropy within the anchor organization’s ecosystem.
Concentrate impact through a place-based focus beginning in Alabama and Mississippi and then expanding throughout the Black Belt South and the southeast
Provide general operating support grants of consequential size for the anchor organizations
Support partner organizations led by directly impacted people
Fund collaborations between anchor organizations and partners which help to fill important gaps and create synergies

The fund Invests in its anchor organizations, their partners, and collaborations through the following areas of focus:
Community RevitalizationFor initiatives that help attract and engage all community members, particularly young people, in creating thriving rural communities.
Food System InfrastructureSupport local and regional food supply chains owned by and serving Black communities.
Farmer SupportGrowing the capacity and collective power-building of Black farmers.
Legacy ExtensionThe continual renewal of Black Agrarianism by next generation farmers and youth.
